Lythion

 

Lythion is an infamous port city along the gulf coast of the Cauldron. It sits downriver from the equally notorious Mount Mhedrus. This active volcano heats the gulf and causes ripples in the Pillars of Magic, particularly the elemental pillars.

Despite the dangers of traveling this area, Lythion remains a popular port of call for traders, adventurers, and smugglers. The laws of Lythion permit commerce that more civilized ports would forbid. It is a dark and smoky metropolis, nestled in the swamp and jungle of the Mhedrus Peninsula.

That dank jungle is a treasure trove of alchemy ingredients  and a breeding ground for monsters of an unsavory nature. This abundant local resource has enriched the powerful within the city, but left the poor destitute.

For those who can survive the streets and jungle, it can be a profitable place to visit. The swamps hide the bones of all those who could not.
